Dreams do come true. In June of 2022, my dream of hosting a wellness retreat catering to Black women and femmes came to fruition. An intergenerational group of twenty-six women from all walks of life trusted me to curate a luxury wellness experience for them. According to the surveys, my “Dream Team” and I DID THAT. I told retreat attendees, “If it feels like a luxury, that’s because it is. But you deserve every bit of it!” Thanking Goddess that they believed me. We spent six days and five nights immersed in community, sacred sound therapy, full moon magic, and a culinary experience in a treehouse in the jungle on a mountain. It’s always “420” in Jamaica, and as a cannabis activist, there was no shying away from the wellness benefits of plant medicine and Indigenous healing modalities.
